Waiting on Wednesday - {14th] Destined

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting for and can't wait to get our hands on!

When Psyche receives a prophecy gone horribly wrong, she learns that even the most beautiful girl in Greece can have a hideous future. Her fate? Fall in love with the one creature even the gods fear.

As she feels herself slipping closer into the arms of the prophecy, Psyche must choose between the terrifyingly tender touch she feels almost powerless to resist and the one constant she's come to expect out of life: you cannot escape what is destined. Destined is a fresh and heartachingly romantic retelling of the Cupid & Psyche myth from debut novelist, Jessie Harrell.

Published Date: November 17th, 2011

The cover of this book is gorgeous! I just love the font and the blend of purple. It's adorable. The blurb is intriguing. A Cupid and Psyche retelling? That's something not common nowadays! Definitely interested! See, I'm not just being my normal stuff and judging a book for it's cover. I'm actually wanting the book because it sounds like something I'd like.

Waiting on Wednesday - {13th] The Unquiet

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting for and can't wait to get our hands on!

Sixteen-year-old Rinn Jacobs has secrets: One, she’s bipolar. Two, she killed her grandmother.
After a suicide attempt, and now her parents' separation, Rinn and her mom move from California to the rural Ohio town where her mother grew up. Back on her medications (again!) and hoping to stay well, Rinn settles into her new home and school. She refuses to be daunted by the fact that the previous owner hanged herself in Rinn's bedroom, or that her classmates believe the school pool is haunted by Annaliese, a girl who drowned there. But when a reckless séance goes awry, and terrible things start happening to her new friends—yet not to her—Rinn is determined to find out why she can’t be "touched" by Annaliese...or if Annaliese even exists.

With the help of Nate Brenner, the hunky “farmer boy” she’s rapidly falling for, Rinn devises a dangerous plan to uncover the truth. Soon reality and fantasy meld into one, till Rinn finds it nearly impossible to tell the difference. When a malevolent force threatens the lives of everyone she cares about--not to mention her own--she can't help wondering: who should she really be afraid of?

Annaliese? Or herself?

Published Date: 2012

OMG! Look at that book! I'm judging it by it's cover and saying that it's going to be a scary good book. I have a feeling that we are going to have to wait awhile for it to come out. I just hope that it keeps this cover because I am in love. Aren't you?! :D

P.S. November = Back-To-Blogging-Month. Expect reviews soon. Happy First Day of November!

Waiting on Wednesday - {12th] Of Poseidon

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting for and can't wait to get our hands on!

Emma and her friend Chloe are spending vacation in Florida. When Emma (literally) runs into a hot guy named Galen on the beach, little does she know he’s a prince of the Syrena. Galen and Emma both feel something strange – is it attraction? - and Galen suspects that Emma might well be the girl he’s heard of – a human who can communicate with fish.

What follows is a deadly scene with a shark in which Galen witnesses Emma’s gifts. He must know more about her, and follows her back to New Jersey, and high school, to find out for sure if she’s the key to saving his kingdom. Soon, Emma can’t deny her feelings for him, but can’t explain them, either – and both she and Galen must learn more about where she comes from and what her powers are before they can trust one another and their feelings.

I don't know why, but when I read the first paragraph, the book that automatically popped into my mind was Starcrossed. Weird, huh? Except this book is about mermaids and the other is about Greek Gods.

Waiting on Wednesday - {11th] Illuminate

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting for and can't wait to get our hands on!

This week, I have been obsessing over this one book that comes out in 2012. Gosh, it seems like its lighters away from now, but really we have about 3 more months! Eeep(:

Haven Terra is a brainy, shy high school outcast. But everything begins to change when she turns sixteen. Along with her best friend Dante and their quiet and brilliant classmate Lance, she is awarded a prestigious internship in the big city— Chicago—and is sent to live and work at a swanky and stylish hotel under the watchful eyes of a group of gorgeous and shockingly young-looking strangers: powerful and alluring hotel owner Aurelia Brown; her second-in-command, the dashing Lucian Grove; and their stunning but aloof staff of glamazons called The Outfit.

As Haven begins falling for Lucian, she discovers that these beautiful people are not quite what they seem. With the help of a mysterious book, she uncovers a network of secret passageways from the hotel’s jazz-age past that leads her to the heart of the evil agenda of Aurelia and company: they’re in the business of buying souls. Will they succeed in wooing Haven to join them in their recruitment efforts, or will she be able to thwart this devilish set’s plans to take the souls of her classmates on prom night at the hotel?

Illuminate is an exciting saga of a teen’s first taste of independence, her experience in the lap of luxury, and her discovery she may possess strength greater than she ever knew.

Published Date: March 6th, 2012

When I first saw this book, I automatically knew I was going to want it at the moment. It's so interesting! Look at that cover and read that synopsis! Definitely going to be on my 2012 pre-order list. It seems like a fun book that fill me with a lot of emotions!

Waiting on Wednesday - {10th] This Is Not A Test

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting for and can't whait to get our hands on

It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self. To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up.

As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live. But as the days crawl by, everyone’s motivations to survive begin to change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life–and death–inside.

When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?

Published Date: June 2012

This book peeked my interest the first time I saw it featured on a blog. I believe that the cover was revealed, so it got a spot on many blogs. It sounds interesting. I've heard about Courtney Summers but I haven't read a book by her. Her other book got great reviews, so I'm hoping this one will too. Too bad we have to wait all the way until June.

Waiting on Wednesday - {9th] Virtuosity

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we can't whait to get our hands on!

Now is not the time for Carmen to fall in love. Two weeks before the most important violin competition of her career, she has bigger things to worry about—like growing out of that suffocating “child prodigy” label, and not disappointing her mother. But it isn’t just the wrong time. It’s the wrong guy. Jeremy is Carmen’s most talented rival, and according to her mother, he’s only interested in one thing: winning.
He isn’t the only one.
Carmen is so desperate to win she takes anti-anxiety drugs to control performance nerves. But what started a year ago as an easy fix is now a hungry addiction. Her mother insists now is not the time to quit, but Carmen is sick of not feeling anything on stage and even more sick of doing what she’s told.
When the darker side of the classical music industry and her mother's ambition collide, Carmen must choose between her career and her love for music.

Published Date: October 27th, 2011

I found this by browsing on Goodreads. It looks really interesting; sounds intriguing as well. I love books that are based around a music aspect. They are really fun to read. The protagonist sounds like an easy to follow type of girl. This is Jessica Martinez, the author's, debut novel. So no expectations here, only a good read.

Waiting on Wednesday - {8th] Kiss Crush Collide

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we can't wait to get our hands on!

Leah has the life most high school girls would kill for—popularity, glowing grades, a rich, athletic boyfriend. So why does she feel like she can’t breathe? And why can’t she stop thinking about the boy from the country club? The one who isn’t her boyfriend, the one that her mother would never, ever approve of, the one that her perfect older sisters would never, ever look at twice. The one who is always looking back at her. Irresistible attraction, smoldering glances, the bad boy and the good girl. Kiss Crush Collide has everything that a steamy forbidden romance should, and then some. With graceful and honest writing and an electric love story, this is a book about growing into your own skin. For fans of Perfect Chemistry, Sarah Dessen, and John Green.

Published Date: December 27th, 2011

This has been on my wish-list for awhile. It sounds like something I would like. A steamy forbidden romance, huh? A lot of YA nowadays feature rebels, and here goes another one. I'm seeing a little trend going on.

P.S. Sorry for not being on. I had no internet connection for awhile. Uploading a review tonight!

I know this book shouldn't be a book I want to read. It's gotten loads of negative reviews. But that's the point. It could just be their opinion, and I might have a whole different feel about this book. Plus, look at that cover. It's gorgeous! :)

Waiting on Wednesday - {5th] Burnout

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we can't wait to get our hands on!

On the day after Halloween, Nan wakes up in a subway car. She is not dreaming. She doesn’t know where she’s been or what she’s done. She’s missing a whole day from her life. And she’s wearing skeleton makeup and a too-small Halloween costume that she doesn't remember putting on.
Nan is not supposed to wake up in places like this anymore. She’s different now, so far from that dangerously drunk girl who hit bottom in the Nanapocalypse. She needs to find out what happened to her, and fast. As she tries to put together the pieces of the last twenty-four hours, she flashes back to memories of her previous life. But she would never go back to her old friends and her old ways. Would she?
The deeper Nan digs, the more disturbing things get. This time, she may have gone one step too far. This time, she may be a walking ghost.

I know it's not the prettiest cover out there, but it sounds extremely interesting. Beyond extremely! :) I actually love the cover of the book. It has this eerie kind of feeling. I bet you won't see this book on many W.O.W. Add it to your TBR list. :)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we can't wait to get our hands on!

So, this week, I've had many books that I really want to get, but it's just my luck that they haven't come out yet! Below is only one on my TBR list. :]

A thrilling debut story of death, love, destiny and danger
Lenzi hears voices and has visions - gravestones, floods, a boy with steel gray eyes. Her boyfriend, Zak, can't help, and everything keeps getting louder and more intense. Then Lenzi meets Alden, the boy from her dreams, who reveals that she's a reincarnated Speaker - someone who can talk to and help lost souls - and that he has been her Protector for centuries.
Now Lenzi must choose between her life with Zak and the life she is destined to lead with Alden. But time is running out: a malevolent spirit is out to destroy Lenzi, and he will kill her if she doesn't make a decision soon.

Like? Yes.
Love? Yes.
Want? Yes.

Too freaking bad it comes out on December 8th. We have to wait about five more months! It's agonizing!

So what are you waiting on? Any suggestions?
