Waiting on Wednesday - {10th] This Is Not A Test

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting for and can't whait to get our hands on

It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self. To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up.

As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live. But as the days crawl by, everyone’s motivations to survive begin to change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life–and death–inside.

When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?

Published Date: June 2012

This book peeked my interest the first time I saw it featured on a blog. I believe that the cover was revealed, so it got a spot on many blogs. It sounds interesting. I've heard about Courtney Summers but I haven't read a book by her. Her other book got great reviews, so I'm hoping this one will too. Too bad we have to wait all the way until June.

Note: So sorry for the lack of posts and my absence. Things have been going crazy for me. Trying to get in the new high school routine. Blehh. Hopefully I can get back on track with my reading. I NEED to, not just for the blog, but for my sake.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
■Grab your current read
■Open to a random page
■Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page {I often use more!}
■BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

■Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Hello, all 74 of you! :D Seeing that number made me do a little happy dance! Woohoo! I hope you all stick around for awhile!

Jill is not your sister. She's a vampire. This is business.

Celebration!

Guess what today was? Well, from the thing right there, I'm hoping you guys are guessing that it was my BIRTHDAY! Woohoo! I feel old; but I'm now only 14. This is the first year in awhile that I was in school for my birthday. I don't like it. I got birthday punches and they hurt. :( People can be mean! Gosh!

Well, I asked for books for my birthday. I got two pre-orders that release tomorrow (can anybody guess?) and some other books. I'll probably have a birthday IMM soon to come. I just wanted to have this post to say that 14 years ago, my mom gave birth to me. :D

Beautifully Broken Review {PTB Review}

-Shorter Version of Real Review-
Title: Beautifully Broken
Author: Sherry Soule
Publish Date: June 30th, 2011, Moonlight Publishing
Synopsis:
Thirteenth daughter. Heritage witch. Demon slayer.
They say every town has its secrets, but that doesn’t even begin to describe Whispering Pines. The townsfolk are a superstitious lot and the mystical disappearance of a local teen has everyone murmuring about a centuries old witch’s curse.
Sixteen-year-old Shiloh Ravenwolf is a heritage witch from the Broussard family, a family both destined and cursed. When she takes a summer job at Ravenhurst Manor, she discovers a ghost with an agenda. That’s where she meets the new town hottie, Trent Donovan, and immediately becomes spellbound by his charms. Yet she is determined to discover the connection between them before it’s too late.
Finally, Shiloh's met someone who is supercute and totally into her, but Trent may be the next victim on the supernatural hit list. And Shiloh is the only person with the power to save him. Complicated much?
It sucks to have a destiny, especially since Shiloh would rather spend her summer being a normal girl who worries about clothes and boys, not the supernatural. But she’s never been
normal and the stranger things become the more her own magical senses awaken.
With cryptic messages from a pesky wraith, she will begin to understand the mysterious significance of the strange mark branded on her wrist, and decide how much she's willing to sacrifice to protect the other teenagers in town.
Unfortunately, for Shiloh, not all ghosts want help crossing over. Some want vengeance.
Definitely not something you would catch me reading. But, I decided to try something new. Change things up. I'm happy I did. Beautifully Broken, a paranormal romance novel, had a lot of twists and turns, a non-predictable read. Sherry Soule writes incredibly good for a debut author. Being only her first published novel, I had just little expectations. Sherry met them.

Shiloh Ravenwolf is a descendant from a line of witches. Some good, others that dabble in the dark arts. Shiloh is on the good side, only using her magick for simple things and a protection spell. The protection spell is used against a demonic force that is trying to steal her soul and drink her blood. With that in mind, Shiloh took a summer job at the town's haunted house, trying to get answers and get closer to the guy she has her eyes on, Trent. In the end, Shiloh finds more than she thought she'll learn and uncover secrets that people would bury.

Guess what guys? School starts for me tomorrow. I'm a freshman in high school! I am so excited, barely nervous at all. I'm only nervous about volleyball tryouts. They are happening on Thursday and Friday. I've never been to a school where tryouts are a day after you go back to school. So, it's weird. And nerve-wrecking. There are probably going to be over 200 girls trying out, so wish me good luck. Maybe my tallness will come in handy. Sad thing? I can't spike for crap. That really needs to improve.
"It would be better if we were together on all this," I said. "You sense it, too, Connie. It's not fair to me to pretend that you don't."

Twitter

Guess what? I got myself a Twitter account just for my blog! I thought of the idea while going to bed last night and I just decided to finally act on it. I have another one, but my friends are starting to find it and I get bombarded with questions about what this book is and that book. I thought it'd be a better idea to create one for blog duties. Like tweeting giveaways or anything related to bookish things! Smart idea, right?

So, you guys should come follow me! I will definitely follow back - @realityendingsx . The title came to me because of my blog name Happily Never Endings. Meaning no happy endings, no fairytale. Just reality. Hence the reality in realityendingsx. :D

That's it for now. A review should be posted today or tomorrow. It's a review for Page Turners blog, but I can put a mini version on here.

Waiting on Wednesday - {9th] Virtuosity

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It's where we share the upcoming releases that we can't whait to get our hands on!

Now is not the time for Carmen to fall in love. Two weeks before the most important violin competition of her career, she has bigger things to worry about—like growing out of that suffocating “child prodigy” label, and not disappointing her mother. But it isn’t just the wrong time. It’s the wrong guy. Jeremy is Carmen’s most talented rival, and according to her mother, he’s only interested in one thing: winning.
He isn’t the only one.
Carmen is so desperate to win she takes anti-anxiety drugs to control performance nerves. But what started a year ago as an easy fix is now a hungry addiction. Her mother insists now is not the time to quit, but Carmen is sick of not feeling anything on stage and even more sick of doing what she’s told.
When the darker side of the classical music industry and her mother's ambition collide, Carmen must choose between her career and her love for music.

Published Date: October 27th, 2011

I found this by browsing on Goodreads. It looks really interesting; sounds intriguing as well. I love books that are based around a music aspect. They are really fun to read. The protagonist sounds like an easy to follow type of girl. This is Jessica Martinez, the author's, debut novel. So no expectations here, only a good read.

Back Home & I Got An Award!

Hey all! I'm finally back home from my little vacation. I was on for a brief day, but I could do any memes this week. But, don't fret. By next week, things will hopefully go back to normal.

In other news... well, I have two big things that happened.
  • I'm getting published! Not a story, but my poem! This is my second time being published, the first was on a website named Wattpad, and that was with a bunch of other Wattpad writers. This time, it's with international poets! I found out this when I got home I got a letter in the mail that stated that my poem passed the 'amateur' stage and is in the 'finalist' stage. I could also win 1 of 116 prizes - the grand prize being $1000.00 :D The poem I submitted wasn't even...well, I'll say, my best work. It was a class assignment; to write a poem that related yourself to a thing. I rock at those, I helped a load of other people out with them because I loved making them up. But, plain and simple, I'm being published inside a book that is worth almost $50 dollars! That's the real deal right there. :)
------------

In another exciting and thrilling news, I got an award! My first real award. Can you (I) believe that?! Me! I was so happy that I get the chance to pass the award on to other fellow bloggers.

Happily Never Ending was made on Friday, April 15th. I barely expect to reach 10 followers, thinking no one gives a biscuit about my opinions when there are loads of other people giving their opinions about the same thing. But then, I got my first comment, from a lovely lady named Kristin who made me definitely want to continue blogging, knowing I have someone on my side! And now here I am, 62 fabulous followers later and I have made friends with some of them. Never would I had expected that one of those followers would graciously pick me as a recipient to an award. I have to give a huge thanks to the amazing and remarkable April at Books4Juliet who passed this award on to me!I wish I could give you a hug, but since we can't see each other face-to-face, I'm going to give you a virtual hug. *virtual hug* :D I bet you had a load of people you could have chosen, but you thought of me! You are so sweet. Thanks so much!

And another wonderful blogger nominated me as well! My jaw dropped when I saw that someone else picked me as well! So, thank you Stephanie at Steph Likes Books for passing the award on to me too! You are a superb girl and definitely one of my favorite UK bloggers! :D
Now, on to the fun part. It's my turn to give back and pass this award on to other people. Who I believe deserve this just like April thought I did! I didn't think it would be so hard to find blogs that qualify, but it is hard. But, I enjoy going through all the blogs.

The goal of the award is to spotlight up and coming bloggers who currently have less than 200 followers. The rules of the award are:

1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your top 5 picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love to other bloggers.
5. And most of all - have bloggity-blog fun!

And I believe that since I was picked twice, the appropriate thing to do is instead of picking just 5, I should pick 10. It'd only be fair.

My Top 10 Picks for the Liebster Blog Award {in alphabetical order by name}

O.ops I Read That Book - AgnesPink ; A YA blogger with a load of potential. Plus, I couldn't help but continuing checking her her blog when I saw there was pink everywhere! Pink is my favorite color, so I was happy to see a lot of pink. Plus, pink is included in her username!

The Life of Fiction - Carole ; So close, to the brink of hitting 200 followers, but at the time, she hasn't. Her blog is beautiful. One of those blogs that you have to keep scrolling down because you want to see more of the prettiness of it. She reviews a load of YA. Who doesn't want to check out a blog titled The Life of Fiction? The name is persuading enough!

Ramblings of a Random Girl - Chelsea ; One of my favorite blogs to visit. Her blog is gorgeous! Plus, she writes  genuinely delightful reviews. She's also loves to craft things. I'm loving her obsession right now, which is friendship bracelets. I bet she makes beautiful bracelets! Maybe if you ask her, she'll send you pictures!

Maybe Its Love - Jess ; Jess owns a cute little blog. She's a fourteen year old YA blogger that enjoys to graphic design. She's also an aspirant to be a famous writer. Don't be unwilling to take our time to visit her; maybe you'll fell in love with her blog just like I did!

Pretty Little Book Head - Kennedy {Kandee} ; I couldn't not nominate her, because she is one of my best friends and I  love her blog. She just recently started blogging and you don't know how excited she gets whenever some compliments her blog or she gets a new follower. Definitely don't hesitate to check her blog out.

Y.A Reviewz ♥ - Liddy ;  is a 13 year old YA blogger who runs a favorite blog of mines. I not only like her  because she's in my age group, but she reviewed some of my favorite books and books I want to read soon. She has read an assortment of books, so don't be scared to go see if she has reviewed some of your enjoyable picks.

PaulaSHx - Paula ; A Brazilian YA blogger that lives in the UK. She's an aspiring writer, which I have in common with her, and she's sweet! I bet you'll love reading her views and taking her recommendations on books. I know I do!

The Review Diaries - Rosy ; A YA blogger who is obsessed with books, Vampire Diaries, and cooking! Vampire Diaries is my favorite show, so I can relate. And of course I'm obsessed with books as well. Cooking.. not so much. But I like eating. Rosy also reads books that are at the top of my wish-list, so I love seeing her opinions.

Saba's Awesome Reviews - Saba ; She's a fantastic YA blogger. She runs a cute little blog. She also says that Unearthly and Delirium are the the most amazing books out there. Agree or disagree? Stop by her blog and tell her your opinion.

Reading In Between The Lines - Sahina ; I adore this blog! Sahina is nice and sweet and a fairly new blogger. She writes honest and notable reviews on YA books. I recommend checking her out. You won't be disappointed.

That took forever to do, but I had fun finding those blogs! Next job, telling everybody that I awarded them! I think that's going to be the funniest part! I hope they get happy like I did! :)
